A Reg-T (RT) call is issued when a margin account makes a transaction that exceeds its available buying power. Reg-T calls are typically due 5 trading days after the call is generated (T+5) but tastyworks reserves the right to require fed calls be met sooner. Reg-T calls can also be met by depositing money or fully paid for, marginable securities that generate sufficient margin release or closing positions that generate sufficient margin release.
Reg-T calls that are not met by deposit by their due date will result in a liquidation strike. Multiple liquidation strikes within a rolling calendar year will result in the following:
Liquidation Strikes 1-3: Strike Issued
Liquidation Strike 4+: 90 day restriction (Closing only)
Please note: Liquidations that occur on the day following an exercise/assignment will not be issued a liquidation strike.
