Your local drugstore may be open 24 hours, but when it comes to trading stocks, equity options, the Smalls, CME futures, and options on futures, the hours vary. All times listed below are in Central Standard Time (Chicago time). As long as the markets are open, then you'll be able to trade on the tastyworks platform.
When are the markets open for trading?
- Pre-market session: 7:30 am to 8:30 am
- Regular trading session: 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
- After-market session: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Small Exchange Products ('Smalls')
Currently, all Smalls trade from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the exception of contracts that are expiring. To view a complete list of available Smalls contracts, please click here.
CME Futures & Options on Futures
Futures hours vary by product. The illustration below goes over the trading hours of each product. Trading hours for options on futures correspond with the underlying contract. In a nutshell, when the outright futures are available for trading, that means the options are also available.
