Looking to purchase 3, 47, or 688 shares of stock? Then that’s what we call an odd-lot. This isn’t an inside joke the industry had made to make fun of you, instead, it’s just another way of referring to a quantity of stock that is not an increment of 100.
Lining up an odd lot trade is just like any other stock order. The quantity arrows located in the quantity field of the order ticket defaults to round lots. To adjust an order in a non-round lot increment requires one more step.
